The first man to go on our list of Sweet Memories @ IWSB is Don Saladi . Please have your share of Memories below here at Comments. Thank you Abhilash for being such a wonderful friend !!
Abhilash............ one of senior citizens of our batch, samay ke sath logon ki age dhalati hai aur wahi abhilash sahab ka andaz din ba din aur rangeen hota ja raha hai............... there is a significant change in abhilash in last two years..... he is psychologically younger now ":-)
Legal Name: S. Abhilash Saladi, expands to Swami Abhilash Saladi. Swami indeed! One of the most calm, and composed individuals I've seen in my life. It took him close to 9 months to actually get angry for the first time, and another 3 to blurt out the first profanity anyone has heard from him EVER! Patience, for this guy, is a given. Add to that humility and the attitude of a 25-year old, and this guy is barely a senior citizen! He can easily put other 25-year olds to shame both on face value and that youthful zeal this guy walks around with! And this coming from a 22 year old!
My best moment with Abhilash was on one of those days when life was miserable in MBGH. We were making daily trips to Fillup in the fight for survival. Bitching about the hostel management used to be the high point of our day. And on this one day when all of the group had disappeared to do one thing or another while we were waiting for the food to be served, I had my first "get to know Abhilash" chat with him. I know! Well! way too late. But better late than never... And that day I realized what a fool I am to have not reached out to this awesome person who is nothing short of perfect. Today I look forward to keeping him in my life forever. Teasing him and trying to freak the soon to be dad is my bestest hobby in the whole world.I look forward to getting to know the tiny thing on its way to planet earth who is going to turn me into an Aunt soon. Well that part sucks! Aunty! Believe it or not. Whats your take on that Pops! Imagine! A baby! Dont tell me you are past the freak out phase. Thats not a fun enough answer. :) . And I sincerely hope the baby isn't born on the 14th. Someone is not going to let us hear the end of it. Is he now? Also looking forward to the day when you become this awesome entrepreneur and we can come begging for a job. :) Lots of love and luck Vibha
the most level headed and soft spoken guy i have ever met....will remember the Ginger's biryani and those fake encounters.....and pestering you to nararte you affair with a bong girl over those strong beers.....you deserve the best in life!!! samrat
Mr. Saladi, Ahem Ahem....... Kickass is a Synonym for this brother! Been there done that, has seen it all! The interesting past is the 'CHANGE'( in caps to signify the magnitude!!) my man has underdone in these eventful two years. From the Sage like Monk to the Self Actualized BC king, its been amazing knowing him. Am lucky to be friends with you Sir! Looking forward to Jr. coming on the 14th.Waiting to see the expression on your face!! Watch out for this one Vibha, praying for 14th so you might just have to hear about it for a long while to come :-)
Best thing about him is his calmness.... You know ... even when he is frustrated, angry whatever ... u wont miss that calm look on his face . . Followed by excellent voice and brain and maturity to compliment same. Though I don't have specific memory to share still want to wish all the best to would be " Dady dear" .. have a great life ahead ! :)
people may call him calm, matured, cool etc etc..i have been too close to him to understand the real Abhilash..wen he gets angry u wud be lucky not to be near him..i have been at the recieving end at times..i guess i was one of the very few ones who used to challenge/contradict what he says and dats how we became gr8 friends..would be the front runner for getting d award for bunking the most number of classes or opening the book least number of times or missing a quiz/exam max number of times..
Whatever be it, he is the most charming personality of d batch..ppl take him as an example..has been the 'daddy' for some kids in d batch who has pretended to be his children..and soon goin to be 'daddy' in life..Wish u d very best bravo..be urself..was gr8 having a friend like you..
Abhilash Saladi- A very amazing personality….A very cool n calm person…. But…but…but… there’s another side of him as well n I m one of those fortunate persons to see that NAUGHTY side… and trust me that is far far better than that calm one. One must see those expressions when he plans not to attend the class or even bunk the Quizzes and it is The best when he throws his Dearest friend out of his room :D. He’s simply Awesome. N I guess it is the right place to say that I’m an ardent fan of his.
One of the best moments with him is when Abhilash, Asad n I gossiped the whole night in his kitchen cum study room and slept at 6 in the morning. That night lot of secrets came out (of course not ours.. ;)). Will cherish these moments forever!!!!
Memory 1: inside the classroom during a lecture when he started speaking about something. His voice was crisp with a relatively heavy baritone, clear pronuciation and he sounded sure of himself. The voice particularly surprised me as it did not quite fit with the unassuming personality. In my mind, I classified him as a serious-mind-your-own-business-professional.
Memory 2: in MBGH, after class, indulging in casual & frivolous chats, exhibiting a good sense of humour. He came across as such a calm individual that even his laughs were composed. Everytime. Believe me when i say this, Abhilash laughs the same laugh everytime. If you record his laughs & compare them, even a computer won't be able to tell the difference ;)
Memory 3: the kitchen adjoining his room... where i would barge in at midnight. Exactly. Everyday. Without fail ;)
Sum of all Memories: one of the most mature individuals in our batch (and age has got NOTHING to do with maturity)
For the kind of person he is, i'd just like to say that, "The package is more than the sum of its parts" ;)
"I think we guys are responsible enuf and mature enuf that we can attend classes ourselves and not because we have to because of attendance. Come On!, we are not Kids" - Abhilash Saladi - First Review Meeting.
"Attendance???? Classes???? Course???? Prof.???? Marks????? Test?????, Gimme a break" - Abhilash Saladi - Year 2.
This guy to me is a complete JANGO!!!
People, whosoever feels he is or was Calm... think again or better go to his room. Has been a great Foster Father to two Kids, which ofcourse his Wife doesn't know. Is bloody scared of her wife (tht obviously is LOVE) and is so damn Kewl!!
his voice speaks a lot about his personality even joshi sir says tht " beta...you hv a very good voice, why dont u try in bollywood" so...hence prooved
I have been one of the fortunate guys to have lived in the same flat as the big DON SWAMI used to. I would say his calm face hides the funny man in him. Real great voice. I would say not only his voice is excellent and one of the crisp and perfect i have ever heard but even his acting skills are remarkable. Great imitator. Just loved his innocence and hope that develop the kind of patience this guy has. Not many know but i have seen this man long for privacy to even talk to his better half peacefully for sometime and has locked him quite a few times in the most memorable kitchen class of MBGH for the same purpose. I will be a fan of this man all my life. He is an exemplary character for me.( specially when bunking the classes). This man slogs and can singlehandedly complete any task. You deserve the best ever life has to offer. Love you Saladi.
He is very mature & calm person of our batch.I like his voice. He is very cooperative with others and is a very nice human being. I saw a drastic change in this guy in last two years. In his early time in IWSB, he was pretty serious about the study and attending the classes and his study room(MBGH's Kitchen) was very popular as a doubt clearing center but now he has become one of the visiting students of our batch. He has crossed the boundaries of IWSB and has become one of my colleague in Career Launcher.
Abhilash for me would always remain an epitome of everything…sincerity, honesty, commitment (when he intends to), under confidence, etc. He can surprise anyone with his range. I turn to him for almost everything, be it an advice or a matter of seeking solace amidst the stressful life of an MBA program. Trust me Abhilash never disappoints anyone.
I am fortunate Abhilash to have been one of your friends. Remain always as you are. I only wish that you grow a little more confident about yourself and believe me once that happens not many would be able to match steps with you.
U r my Big-B. U r the one who have helped me change a lot and my attitude towards life. I actually like troubling u, coz I love to see those expressions u give (I wish I could have a camera). I cannot forget the time spent with u in this college. I cannot explain further in words what ur importance in my life is. But I am feeling great that I got an opportunity to write about u on the day of ur Anniversary.
If GOD gives me choice to fulfill one of my dreams, then I'll definitely want u to become my real brother.
It was in the evening of 22nd June, 08 when I met Abhilash for the first time. It was the first evening at MBGH hostel, me along with Jitu, Phabhakar and Abhilash were discussing our journey of life till IWSB. No doubt we all were very excited as the next day we were about to start our new college life. That night we chat till 2.30 AM. It was when he offered me Classic-Mild and I couldn’t resist myself from smoking after 3 years (You know the truth), from that time onwards there is hardly any day when I haven’t smoked. Thanks Abhilash for being such a nice Sutta partner. People says it hard to forget the first love, first kiss, first car etc but in my case, I can say it’s hard to forget the first friend of IWSB i.e. Abhilash. The biggest strength of Abhilash is his calmness & honesty, which are the important tools to become a successful manager/entrepreneur. But somehow I feel you need to be a little more aggressive and confident. I like to congratulate you again for getting the love of your life and being a complete man (becoming father). May the almighty showers the choicest blessing in your future endeavor.
Will always cherish the memories of time I spent with you.
Kya aapne kabhi maut ka samne kiya hai? Maine kiya hai. Mera naam Col. Surat Singh (Abhilash Saladi) hai. log aaj kal mujhe Don Saladi kehte hain. Dadi ma aksar dada ji ke kisse sunaya karti thi..........
First time i saw him - was the day i went back into all my childhood nostalgia, he is detto same to same as my bro. Infact i've told him also that he makes refresh the sweet memories of my kiddo days. The time when i most interacted with him was during my summers, n he really appeared to be different, Abhilash - Is he the person i know?
Abhilash was amongst the first people whom I had interacted with on the first day at hostel. when I used to see him in class i used to think that he is very serious n calm but as my interaction with him increased I realized how wrong I was. He can make you laugh non - stop, advice u on almost anything......he is simply superb as a person to interact with, have fun with and obviously to hang out with... only one thing I would like to tell u Abhilash one thing that I want you to change about yourself is that please learn n try to say NO to people u r just too polite to people....that doesn't mean u r going to say no to me when borrowing your cell charger :)
my impression of you has been "a perfect gentleman" ..well i would love to carry that in my mind always because gentlemen are hard to come across. all luck for your future endeavors -
YAAD hai !!!!.... yaad to hoga wo din..... jab tumney Sunil Sangra sey EBITDA pey bahut hi gahraayi sey debate ki thi ;-) aur Globalization naamak din humaari haalat nahi bhool sakta ;-) Yaad to hogi wo... wo raat ... when i saw you the most excited guy in KK and Parbhakar's room to burn..those !! yeah those..you got it ..!! seeing you dammn excited and even leading the Monks with KK is, and will be an unforgettable memory forever.... I have noticed your Kitchen changing lives of many around..impactful !!! means you told me you like to finish projects way before time...and rest we both know ;-) Unquestionably I have deep respect for you as a human being and as a professional both. Loved every moment spent with you here and I wish its a very long journey together. You deserve every bit of success as a human being and as a professional, May God bless you.Take care.
A calm, composed person I have ever come across... I have rarely seen him get angry. Now this is really funny, while in MBGH, he asked me to lock his kitchen door from outside so that he could study in peace! (i think this was his everyday affair :-) But it was really amusing. And please learn to say the word NO, ofcouse politely but practice it, cause its really necessary in this corporate jungle!
I had few interactions with ..the most decent guy of IWSB.... carrying a family man image ..this guy is cool, calM & awesome team player..with no tantrums at all.thnks for helping me out n times
Abhilash was one of the guys who influenced me to join IWSB. Actually I was having 2 offers from other good B-Schools so I decided to go at outbound just like that, till then I had not made my mind to join IWSB. We first met at outbound and I was so impressed by him that I decided to change my decision and I joined the IWSB. A lot’s of words which described his personality has been written by my other IWSB friends. One of the main things which I learned from him that how to change according to the environment. One very good example for that learning is that Initial days of IWSB, he used to be a very punctual student and known as doubt clear machine (related to academics) but in the last term he played the role of a visiting student:):) Love you Brother.....All the Best...Will Miss your charming and smiling face.tumhare face se tumhari age ka pata nhi lagta :):)
i will talk abt some otherside of Abhilash....he was one of my teacher in 1st year.....I use to discuss with him most of my assignments , specially those WAC assignments.....I tortured him a lot in his kitchen cum study room......I m only lucky guy to visit his Kolkata resi & have delicious food cooked by bhabi.......we also use to have 7milestone chinese NVs together many times...........both of us influenced ourselves to bunk 1 week classes of all terms & find out silly reasons to justify it.......
He is one of the person in our IWSB family which everyone looks for in the hour of needs and he truly and honestly had lived to our expectations till date, be it placement process or anything that need to be communicated to the college. i just wish that u should carry more confidence with u and u can achieve anything u want.
Abhilash is one of the very people that make perfect inspiration sources.. Have never met anybody quite like him.. What can I say about this charming young (actually old:P) man? he is the one you can depend on.. I alwez felt safe ven he ws around.. and hav nvr seen him in anger.. I was 1 of the earlist one to know his lyf’s story.. @mbgh at his room.. I guess within the first 15 days of joinin iwsb.. his story from how different he was durin his engineerin dayz as compared to now…wen he used to smoke on his teachr’s face… to his US journey..how he spent time there..studied..worked(part time).. came back due to unavoidable reasons, then took a job in sum dessert in gujrat n his resist his fuckin assistant ;).. where he HAD to inhale half a kg of mud everyday..the TV channel which the other guy used to watch..which made abhilash crazy.. then joinin hsbc, getting married.. etc.. woof.. see abhilash, I remember it all.. Abhilash, hav alwyz seen a big bro in u..nd respect u a lot like all in our batch does.. you hv really seen the colors of lyf..nd r truly n achiever..keep goin.. :)
Don Saladi, as the very first person to have called you so I'm somewhat late to arrive here. But don't worry, coz you've Al Neri(only the two of us understand what this means !!! I find you as an epitome of honesty, strength of character and maturity, certain qualities that I covet. You are a league apart from the crowd and will always remain so. And now, for the interesting part, I saw ur miserable/pitiable condition when your carefully arranged kitchen cum study was made into you know what, and you had to request your flatmates to lock you from outside !!! Gosh If only you could speak your heart out and throw all that politeness out of the window. This i say say since I knew you over the course of our summer internship, where we're fortunate to see your wild side. And who can forget that Agra trip sponsored by Chintan Tyagi. That asshole of a driver who simply won't listen. The visit to Taj only to find it closed. Sharing our past lives to each other. The South Indian thali, and the falooda. My requesting you to say yes to offers of chai/thanda whenever a kind sme owner offered to do so. Oh boy, I'll surely miss those days. Just wanted to say something.Sometimes you just have to give it to them straight on their face, rather than biding time.Things would be much easier/faster for you then. And finally Don Saladi, thanx for all the advice and gold flakes. It has been a pleasure to know you. Warm Regards Debashis Patra
A very nice guy. Very few can create such willingness to believe in others that everything is all right, whenever one speaks. Simply because his voice and poise carries the required maturity to see things through. At least those are the impressions that people get and at least count on to get through rough patches in life. Such an important quality.
He worries a lot but also can make some timely remarks that can make you smile. He may not make u burst with laughter but he does make the timely and frequent splashes to keep things lively and interesting, intended or unintended.
He is one of the first persons i met in IWSB and a remarkable friendship was built, mostly based on mingling and peaceful co-existence of our respective personal belief system. I liked his company immediately. Found that he is a possible finisher, a hard-worker who will make things work. I still remember that he got quite worried after working for a while on 'Subsistence marketing' with me & Jitu. Academic work was mounting, and it was getting difficult to continue. Finally, Abhilash had to quit with no declaration as such. It was sad that way. But it didn't matter much as we weren't going anywhere actually.
In many occasions I have sensed a lot of stress bottled up within him. In those times i felt sad for him. Wish he could just chill sometimes. Its ok to go wrong at times and not worry much about the consequences. Personal conviction, drive and self-confidence hedges lot of the risk that stares at us right in the eye.
I want to see you happy and more successful in life. You can have more than you are getting. And i know you want more. I have my best regards for your family and I am sure they love you a lot for the man you already are. A short crisp advice... Look before you leap, But do leap. Because you are the man! I believe in whatever you plan or want to do.
He's a great guy. He took my interview and I've never ever felt this comfortable with any interviewer. He's very humble & he is generous while he talks. God bless him always. Much to learn from him. I am happy that I got a chance to meet such a guy in my life. Thanks a lot Abhilash

ReplyDeleteI had few interactions with ..the most decent guy of IWSB.... carrying a family man image ..this guy is cool, calM & awesome team player..with no tantrums at all.thnks for helping me out n times
ReplyDelete..wishing u do well in all aspects of life...
Abhilash was one of the guys who influenced me to join IWSB. Actually I was having 2 offers from other good B-Schools so I decided to go at outbound just like that, till then I had not made my mind to join IWSB.
ReplyDeleteWe first met at outbound and I was so impressed by him that I decided to change my decision and I joined the IWSB. A lot’s of words which described his personality has been written by my other IWSB friends.
One of the main things which I learned from him that how to change according to the environment. One very good example for that learning is that Initial days of IWSB, he used to be a very punctual student and known as doubt clear machine (related to academics) but in the last term he played the role of a visiting student:):)
Love you Brother.....All the Best...Will Miss your charming and smiling face.tumhare face se tumhari age ka pata nhi lagta :):)
i will talk abt some otherside of Abhilash....he was one of my teacher in 1st year.....I use to discuss with him most of my assignments , specially those WAC assignments.....I tortured him a lot in his kitchen cum study room......I m only lucky guy to visit his Kolkata resi & have delicious food cooked by bhabi.......we also use to have 7milestone chinese NVs together many times...........both of us influenced ourselves to bunk 1 week classes of all terms & find out silly reasons to justify it.......
ReplyDeleteHe is one of the person in our IWSB family which everyone looks for in the hour of needs and he truly and honestly had lived to our expectations till date, be it placement process or anything that need to be communicated to the college. i just wish that u should carry more confidence with u and u can achieve anything u want.
ReplyDeleteAbhilash is one of the very people that make perfect inspiration sources.. Have never met anybody quite like him.. What can I say about this charming young (actually old:P) man?
ReplyDeletehe is the one you can depend on..
ReplyDeleteI find you as an epitome of honesty, strength of character and maturity, certain qualities that I covet. You are a league apart from the crowd and will always remain so.
And now, for the interesting part,
I saw ur miserable/pitiable condition when your carefully arranged kitchen cum study was made into you know what, and you had to request your flatmates to lock you from outside !!! Gosh
If only you could speak your heart out and throw all that politeness out of the window.
Warm Regards
Debashis Patra
A very nice guy. Very few can create such willingness to believe in others that everything is all right, whenever one speaks. Simply because his voice and poise carries the required maturity to see things through. At least those are the impressions that people get and at least count on to get through rough patches in life. Such an important quality.
ReplyDeleteHe worries a lot but also can make some timely remarks that can make you smile.
